March 8: Celebrating Women in Life and Art

Everything I do—my art, my curating, my mentoring—is about women. My entire life is shaped by the women around me.

My mother shaped who I am. My incredible daughters, who are already forces of nature, teach me daily about resilience, curiosity, and love. The extraordinary women artists I work with—those in my exhibitions, my courses, and my mentoring groups—each bringing their unique vision, stories, and courage into the world.

To be a woman is an advantage. We create, nurture, and lead. We shape communities, build futures, and turn ideas into reality. Yet, being a woman artist remains a challenge. The art world still carries barriers, biases, and expectations that we constantly push against. But we persist, carving space for our voices, our narratives, and our art.

On this March 8, I celebrate all the women who make, who nurture, who fight, who dream. Women who transform the world with their presence, their work, and their care.

To the artists, the mothers, the daughters, the mentors, and the friends—thank you for inspiring, challenging, and shaping the world around us.
